- Use yard management software to ensure that all railcars that enter, exit, load, or unload in the facility are
- accurately documented
- Responsible for generating switch lists based on day-to-day needs and changes in the yard
- Provide data and reports to our customers
- Perform daily updates of the Yard Management tool
- Perform recordkeeping duties related to the operation
- Coordinate and oversee office functions including phones, mail, correspondence, shipping, etc.
- Identify and resolve issues or problems with operational information systems and reports particularly identifying issues with Customer inventory and yard management systems Manage Supply and Demand for railcar movements
- Work directly with multiple customer contacts
- Local inventory management of railcars within the facility to meet loading requirements and car count thresholds
- Review and fulfill open orders movements both outbound and inbound
- Verification of quality results for both outbound and inbound railcars
- Generate and verify both loaded/empty billing to railroads via GVP or RR website direct
- Manage railcar status of cars within the Savage facility i.e. bad orders, load & holds)
- Work directly to support customers' railcar logistics needs and special requirements
- Expedite high-priority shipments
- Entry of TDS inventory system of OCTG
Competent knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point Demonstrated experience managing documents and time clock records to support accounts payable/receivable and payroll
Understands the importance and demonstrates professionalism and customer service, quickly and professionally responds to day-to-day Customer needs
Ability to anticipate needs of the Operation
Ability to multitask and prioritize time-sensitive work assignments while meeting corporate deadlines
Good written and oral skills with an ability to communicate with Customers and other Savage Team Members Demonstrates a sense of ownership for responsibilities, yet is teachable and willing to learn from manager and others
Positive attitude; treats others with fairness and respect – expects the same in return Is honest in dealings with the customers, company, and Team Members attention to detail, self-motivated, and good organizational skills
Identify problem areas with customers and work with the manager to develop a resolution
Education/Experience
Experience in logistics-sensitive clerical tasks preferred Background using GVP or equivalent Customer inventory systems preferred High school graduate or GED equivalent required
Physical Requirements
Office environment Located in an industrial plant
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
may be asked to travel long distances, on occasion, for more additional training
