Under the supervision of the Director of Production, the Lighting Supervisor works in association with the lighting design faculty technical director, and other managers in the Department of Theater in the training of lighting design students and the planning, coordination, and supervision of the theatrical lighting program of the Department of Theater. Overall responsibilities include the design, engineering, installation, use, strike, maintenance, and acquisition of theatrical lighting equipment and supplies for all Department of Theater activities including academic productions, Department events, venue rentals, and contracted projects. Provide supervision and management services for theater rentals and non-academic projects. Manage and maintain associated lighting equipment and facilities for use by student and guest lighting designers and all users of the Department's performance venues at a level consistent with professional standards. Train and supervise teaching assistants and technicians.Percentage of Time:

Required/Preferred
1. Knowledge of the use and applications of general lighting equipment including control consoles, dimmers, power distribution equipment, lighting fixtures and intelligent lighting equipment.

2. Ability to learn the use and applications of new lighting equipment.

3. Ability to effectively communicate the use and applications of lighting equipment to people with various amounts of related previous knowledge.

14. Knowledge and skill in the use of ETC, Strand and other computer control consoles.

15. Ability to use personal computer to perform word processing, record keeping functions and cue sheet tracking functions. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
